Healthy Aging at the Burbank Senior Artists Colony

The Burbank Senior Artists Colony offers a vision for our future as older adults.  It is a mix of upscale hotel-looking market-rate and low-income apartments that offers all its residents an opportunity to have a longer and healthier life through art studios, a video editing room, a theater and classrooms for the arts.   It was the brainchild of John Huskey, a Los Angeles-based developer of affordable housing and Tim Carpenter, the founder of EngAGE, a nonprofit that takes a whole-person approach to creative and healthy aging by providing arts, wellness, lifelong learning, community building and intergenerational programs to thousands of seniors living in affordable senior apartment communities in Southern California.
