The SoCal Chapter of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) presents . . .
Join us for this dynamic two-part experiential workshop designed for psychotherapists, healthcare providers, educators, students, and artists. Learn and practice experiential techniques to help both you and your clients or students cultivate mindfulness, internal resourcing capacities, and methods for self-care.
Kathy Cass, MA, BC-DMT, NCC, C-IAYT, AHC, will facilitate techniques to help participants find their way back “home” to their balanced self. Breath-centered movement and meditation practices and seasonal specific Ayurvedic (Yoga’s sister science) lifestyle tips for self-care will be given. Ayurveda teaches how things like food, the weather, and our interactions can alter our physiology and psyche. These practices are aimed at bringing more sustained joy, peace, and cheer. No previous Yoga/Movement experience required. Please dress comfortably.
Daniel Doyle, MFT, RDT, and Jennifer Stuckert-Knapp, MFT, RDT, will provide resourcing techniques that participants can use for self-care as well as with clients or students. Participants will be led through guided visualization and strength-based drama therapy exercises to facilitate emotional regulation, relaxation, and the development of playfulness and spontaneity. Mindfulness practice and EMDR resourcing techniques will be included in the exercises.
