UCLA Student Brings Creative Arts Therapies to Those Affected by Mental Illness

Fifth year UCLA undergraduate, Kendra Knudsen, spearheaded the UCLA Creative Minds Project that has brought art therapy, drama therapy, expressive poetry and drumming to persons affected by mental illness at Step Up on Second, a nonprofit organization in Santa Monica. This sustainable program is served by art and drama therapy graduate students and UCLA undergraduate volunteers.  The Creative Minds Project also offers programming at UCLA in the creative arts for healing.  UCLArts and Healing supports all of these projects.

Creative Minds is looking for freshmen and sophomore UCLA undergraduate volunteers. To request an application and learn about the upcoming informational sessions, please email: creativemindsatucla@gmail.com
