Music-Making Grant Awarded

We are excited to share that we have been awarded a grant from The NAMM Foundation for the 2020-2021 academic year. The grant serves the Foundation’s mission to advance participation in music making and offer quality access to all people.

About the Project:

The award will enable us to teach approximately ten teachers (from a variety of underserved schools across CA) how to create a Mindful Music Making (M3) experience in the classroom as a sustainable way to improve focus, reduce stress, and strengthen self-regulatory skills. Teachers can create an environment of calm at the start of each day, as well as use M3 as way to offer brain breaks and restoration as needed throughout the day. They would be able to quiet the classroom and find rest for themselves as well. These measures will help address increased stress from uncertainty and change during this pandemic season.
