We are applying this week for a CalMHSA grant to cover the cost of public education events for mental health in LA County. We need to identify potential community partners by Thursday, April 4.
We would like to offer art-therapy informed sessions on working with children and teens (1 – 2 hours in length) based on the book, The Innovative Parent: Raising Connected, Happy, Successful Kids through Art, written by board-certified art therapist, Erica Curtis and our founder & director, Ping Ho. Here is a brief, animated video describing the book, which offers some practical tools at the end: https://youtu.be/PlU_DY0RXfk.
According to the terms of the grant, these events must be delivered between 4/15 and 6/15, 2019.
Please let us know ASAP if your school, agency, organization, or service area is interested in hosting and outreach for one of these community events. We need to state the partners in our grant application this week.
The grant seems to fund educational events of varying sizes, and it allows funding for food, so if you believe that you are able to draw substantial attendance for such an event, please send the following information to email@example.com:
- Name of your organization.
- Approximate number of staff, students, parents, and/or community members we would be able to serve if we get the grant.
- Where might the event take place? (e.g., on your campus)
- Approximate event date between April 15 – June 15, 2019 (e.g., end of May)
