Day Training Activity Center (DTAC) at New Horizons

New Horizons offers a Day Training Activity Center (DTAC) program which focuses on the reinforcement and development of skills and experiences designed to fulfill each clients potential. The program provides training in functional living skills, opportunities to explore creative self expression, and community visits to participate in recreational, educational, cultural, and volunteer activities.

One of the primary goals of DTAC is to help address the transition process of young adults graduating from the high school environment. Making friends and finding a purpose with dignity and respect contribute to each person’s goals of greater independence. All of our programs have at least one bilingual instructor and are geared to assist in this transition and can be joined by the client at any level based on their needs and development. DTAC also offers a class for English as a second language.
