The Los Angeles County of Mental Health's Annual Conference

Los Angeles, CA

Mental health is something than many take for granted but those who struggle with mental illnesses often find much relief, consolation, hope and resiliency through their personal religious practices and through their faith. The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health has always listened to the people who receive mental health services about ways they recover, and so the integration of spirituality as a tool toward wellness developed, not only in individual treatment plans, groups, parameters of practice for clinicians, but also resulted in this conference planning committee. Over the years of this conference, the many spiritual practices have been highlighted and also the services of mental health, substance treatment, public health and physical health care. We are pleased to offer this conference as a resource for clinicians, clients, health providers, spiritual care providers, family members and clergy alike as learning opportunity about integration of the healing elements that spiritual practice provides.
